Cnicus wallichii var. nepalensis (DC.) Hook.f.

leaves white-tomentose beneath, heads peduncled, inner invol. tracts with broadly dilated scarious reflexed tips in many series more numerous than the outer spiniferous ones, sometimes occupying two thirds of the head.
